Paragraph Response: Katniss vs Tris

Katniss is the stronger competitor because she is a survivor and has had lots of experience on hunting, she also providing food for the family and taking care of them.

Katniss is the stronger competitor because she has been through lots of experience on hunting animals using bow and arrow for years and years to provide food for the family, (Collins pg.? ) On the other hand, Tris who is in Dauntless faction training has lots of foods provided for her. Also Katniss is a stealth hunter in the woods searching for food such as apple, instead of starving to death she would risk her life sneaking in the wood, however she has to be aware that someone could hear her and find her. (In the fall, a few brave souls sneak into the woods to harvest apples. Even here, even in the middle of nowhere, you worry someone might overhear you.)(Collins pg.6) On the other hand, Tris who had just started training to fight using weapons such as gun, which is faster and easier than an arrow. For Tris, she jumped from the building but knowing that she would not die because it is just a training.

Katniss is brave by her action towards her sister, she volunteers for Prim knowing she will die.

“ I volunteer!” I gasp. “I volunteer as tribute!”(Collins pg.22). Katniss has been through levels of hardship which builds mental strength so she never give up easily, from the loss of her father that reminds her that it’s her responsible to take care of the family and never let them starve to death. Especially Prim, because the mother seemed like she cannot hold the pain and would give up and left Prim. (I bought our food at the market and cooked it as best I could and tried to keep Prim and myself looking presentable.)(Collins pg.27).

In conclusion, Katniss is the stronger competitor because she has more experiences.
