Katniss / Tris

Katniss, from The Hunger Games, and Tris, from Divergent, have many similarities and differences, like the fact that they are both the heroines in the same Adventure-type novel. In adventure, there is action, there is excitement, and there is someone stronger than the other. If we compared both Katniss and Tris, like if we put them in one arena where they had to kill each other, who would win? (Who is stronger?) I think Katniss is stronger than Tris. I think Katniss would definitely win. In the Hunger Games, Katniss is a normal girl who grew up the the poor coal city of District 12. She grew up hunting, becoming fiercer and fiercer every day, because her family was poor. In the story of Divergent, people in the story come from “sections”, or factions. Tris comes from Abnegation, which if you come from Abnegation faction, you are a introverted, smart and kind person. Later in the story Tris joins the Dauntless faction, where if you are in Dauntless faction you are brave, strong, and you can tolerate many things. Tris, when she joins the Dauntless faction she now is brave, daring, and forceful. She was able to survive the pain of knives being thrown to her hand while she cannot move. That was her test. But even if Tris can survive many situations like this, I still think Katniss is stronger. Katniss grew up in the gloomy, poor District 12 and hunted in the woods almost every day, because her family struggled to find food. She trained for years in her childhood, this is her skill, while Tris just moved and trained for a time far shorter than Katniss. She is able to use weapons, and she knows how to use a bow and arrow. Katniss survived the hardship people and life threw down on her. She tolerated them and she fought them. This is how she survived until present. Tris, even if she is now in Dauntless, has some Abnegation-(ness) left in her. She grew up as Abnegation, and she is used to being a shy Abnegation. She was well fed, compared to Katniss, who sometimes went to bed hungry. Since she is well fed, she doesn't know the feelings you get when you are hungry and when you have to hunt, which leads to not being able to hunt (or basically kill.) Even Four made her the “weakest” rank. So, because she cannot hunt and kill, Katniss from The Hunger Games is stronger and more likely to win a fight if it existed.
