Paragraph Response: Katniss Vs Tris

From the two novels, Katniss from The Hunger games and Tris from Divergent, these characters share similar traits but Katniss is by far the stronger competitor. In the novel, Katniss has a lot more experience than Tris who just started to learn to shoot guns while Katniss has been hunting her whole life with a bow and an arrow. Katniss has more accuracy than Tris and Katniss also uses the bow which needs more skills to aim and shoot while a gun needs just aiming skills and shoots easily; Katniss’s skills are excellent, she shoots squirrels right in the eye and complimented by Peeta’s father (Collins ). Katniss is braver than Tris since Katniss sacrificed for her sister to live. She volunteered for her sister Prim while knowing that she will surely die (Collins 21) while Tris jumped off the building knowing that she won’t die and that it’s just a Dauntless test(Roth 29 PDF). Katniss shows more bravery than Tris. Katniss’s situation is far more risky than Tris’s by how katniss’s life is more challenging to live by because of how poor she is while Tris is living in a middle class household with healthy food in her belly every day. Katniss has to fight other 23 people in the arena alone while Tris just has to fight to just win the other person but not kill them or being killed like being knocked out by Al. Overall, Katniss is way ahead than Tris, the stronger competitor is obviously Katniss not Tris. 

Katniss / Tris

Katniss, from The Hunger Games, and Tris, from Divergent, have many similarities and differences, like the fact that they are both the heroines in the same Adventure-type novel. In adventure, there is action, there is excitement, and there is someone stronger than the other. If we compared both Katniss and Tris, like if we put them in one arena where they had to kill each other, who would win? (Who is stronger?) I think Katniss is stronger than Tris. I think Katniss would definitely win. In the Hunger Games, Katniss is a normal girl who grew up the the poor coal city of District 12. She grew up hunting, becoming fiercer and fiercer every day, because her family was poor. In the story of Divergent, people in the story come from “sections”, or factions. Tris comes from Abnegation, which if you come from Abnegation faction, you are a introverted, smart and kind person. Later in the story Tris joins the Dauntless faction, where if you are in Dauntless faction you are brave, strong, and you can tolerate many things. Tris, when she joins the Dauntless faction she now is brave, daring, and forceful. She was able to survive the pain of knives being thrown to her hand while she cannot move. That was her test. But even if Tris can survive many situations like this, I still think Katniss is stronger. Katniss grew up in the gloomy, poor District 12 and hunted in the woods almost every day, because her family struggled to find food. She trained for years in her childhood, this is her skill, while Tris just moved and trained for a time far shorter than Katniss. She is able to use weapons, and she knows how to use a bow and arrow. Katniss survived the hardship people and life threw down on her. She tolerated them and she fought them. This is how she survived until present. Tris, even if she is now in Dauntless, has some Abnegation-(ness) left in her. She grew up as Abnegation, and she is used to being a shy Abnegation. She was well fed, compared to Katniss, who sometimes went to bed hungry. Since she is well fed, she doesn't know the feelings you get when you are hungry and when you have to hunt, which leads to not being able to hunt (or basically kill.) Even Four made her the “weakest” rank. So, because she cannot hunt and kill, Katniss from The Hunger Games is stronger and more likely to win a fight if it existed.

  The characters, Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games and Beatrice Prior from Divergent are both similar in many ways but also have some differences in their personalities, however I believe that Katniss is a stronger competitor. One of the unique traits those 2 character have is Bravery, Beatrice had prove her bravery by jumping down a building to an unknown, but on the other hand Katniss had volunteered as a tribute to play in a horrifying game show called "The Hunger Games" which was set up by the capitol. Katniss and beatrice lives in a community just like the Absolute Monarch during the Enlightenment period. The community that Katniss Everdeen is living in is called, Seam. The Seam was located on the border of District 12 near the wild forests. It was extremely hard to find food in there, and many families lived in hunger and poverty. But for Beatrice she lives in the future in the city Chicago and people are divided into factions. Life for Beatrice haven’t been really bad she has food, a full family, and she never been in hunger and poverty. Beatrice and Katniss is described in the book as fierce, Beatrice knows how to fire a gun, and Katniss knows how to use the bow and arrow. Beatrice firing a gun is a wonderful talent,  For the fact that Katniss father passed away and her family depends on her, Katniss goes hunting daily to provide food for her mom and Prim. Her mom and Prim is the reason that Katniss is determined to come out of the games alive for her mom, and for Prim. There are many similarities in the 2 characters but I believe that Katniss is a stronger competitor based on her surviving abilities and the amount of effort she puts into taking care of her family.

Paragraph Response: Katniss vs Tris

Katniss is the stronger competitor because she is a survivor and has had lots of experience on hunting, she also providing food for the family and taking care of them.

Katniss is the stronger competitor because she has been through lots of experience on hunting animals using bow and arrow for years and years to provide food for the family, (Collins pg.? ) On the other hand, Tris who is in Dauntless faction training has lots of foods provided for her. Also Katniss is a stealth hunter in the woods searching for food such as apple, instead of starving to death she would risk her life sneaking in the wood, however she has to be aware that someone could hear her and find her. (In the fall, a few brave souls sneak into the woods to harvest apples. Even here, even in the middle of nowhere, you worry someone might overhear you.)(Collins pg.6) On the other hand, Tris who had just started training to fight using weapons such as gun, which is faster and easier than an arrow. For Tris, she jumped from the building but knowing that she would not die because it is just a training.

Katniss is brave by her action towards her sister, she volunteers for Prim knowing she will die.

“ I volunteer!” I gasp. “I volunteer as tribute!”(Collins pg.22). Katniss has been through levels of hardship which builds mental strength so she never give up easily, from the loss of her father that reminds her that it’s her responsible to take care of the family and never let them starve to death. Especially Prim, because the mother seemed like she cannot hold the pain and would give up and left Prim. (I bought our food at the market and cooked it as best I could and tried to keep Prim and myself looking presentable.)(Collins pg.27).

In conclusion, Katniss is the stronger competitor because she has more experiences.

From the fictional book Divergent (Roth) and The Hunger Games (Collins) out of Katniss and Tris. Katniss is the stronger competitor because she has had more experience than Tris in fighting, is brave, and she has also overcome many trials in her life. Katniss has been taught how to hunt ever since she was a child as mentioned on pg.? . She has been trained to use a bow an arrow to hunt and she has been hunting to provide for her family to keep them alive. While Tris had only just begun her training at the Dauntless faction and is still learning she also doesn't know how to survive on her own as she was not taught to and doesn't know how to hunt even if she can use a gun. Katniss is proficient with both a knife and a gun as mentioned in page. she is also decent at hand to hand combat but Tris’ aim is not really good and doesn't really have power in her attacks as mentioned in page.? . Katniss is braver than Tris because she volunteered for the Hunger Games fully knowing that she was going to die but even though Tris had to jump of a building she knew that it was a scare tactic that the Dauntless used. Katniss had also signed up for tesserae which are supposed to increase her chances of getting picked for the Hunger Games but Tris did not need to do that she had a choice that she could make and she chose it that s why Katniss is braver than Tris. Katniss has led a harsher life because she had to survive almost starving to death but even so she had managed to get bread and bring it back for her family and herself, she sells thing in the black market so she could get enough food for her family, her dad who was very precious to her died in an mine explosion and as said on pg.? as long as she can find herself she won’t die as she is named after an edible plant name Katniss. Tris had led a normal life she had never had to starve as there was always food for her, none of her family members had died, and also she just goes to school no hunting or having to put in any tesserae. All these are reasons that make Katniss stronger than Tris.  Katniss has had more experience fighting, is more courageous, and she has led an unpleasantly rough life.

Katniss Comparison With Tris (Pou)

                    In both the novels of The Hunger Games and Divergent, both the main characters in these books were controlled. But one of them is the stronger competitor because Katniss knows how to use weapons. Tris is in a community that you were not allowed to use weapons at all and also Katniss's society. For the sake of her family, she risk her life to go outside into the illegal area to hunt for animals by using her father's bow which he had left for her after he got blown up. Katniss is also the better competitor because she knows how to survive because if she believes in herself that she will survive she will never die. Tris does not know how to survive as better as Katniss because she is restricted in her faction and never leave. The last reason is that Katniss brave and is willing to sacrifice herself for her family. We know this because Katniss volunteered for her sister after her sister was chosen for The Hunger Games. Tris is in a different faction than her family so she only cares about herself most of the time. Now we know that Katniss is by far the stronger competitor because she know how to use weapons, she knows how to survive, and she is brave and willing to sacrifice herself for her family.

Katniss vs. Tris ( Emma)

In the book The Hunger Games and Divergent, there are two main characters that are being compared. As I have looked over my thoughts of Katniss from The Hunger Games , and Tris from Divergent, I figured that Katniss is the strong competitor. Katniss lives in a poor family that has a little food, which is why Katniss has to hunt for food for her and her family to survive. Where Tris lives in an average normal rich family where they can buy and get a lot of food to eat, so there is no need for Tris to hunt. Katniss has had a lot of experience with weapons such as the bow and arrow for example shooting it into a squirrels eye, and she has had a lot of training before but Tris has just started training and she just learned how to shoot a gun. Katniss is also physically strong and very brave as she puts others before herself as she is brave enough to take Prim’s place to participate in The Hunger Games to save Prim’s life. Tris is also brave but isn’t as brave as Katniss, she is brave enough to jump off a building knowing she will not die. Katniss as also gone through tough family hardships so that it why she is more stealth and brave, and she has had a rough and bad childhood and family problems such as her mom becoming depressed after the death of her father. Katniss is a very stealth hunter and she is a survivor with lots of experience and knowledge and techniques about staying alive. So in conclusion, Katniss is the better and stronger competitor.

Paragraph Response: Katniss VS. Tris

There are many similarities and differences between the two main character , Tris from the novel of Divergent and Katniss from the novel of The Hunger Game.It is by far that Katniss is way more stronger competitor. First of all , they both are brave, but Katniss is more brave than Tris. This is because Katniss volunteer for her sister, Prim , knowing that if she enters the hunger game she will die. It shows on the novel that this is what Katniss thought to herself “I can’t win. Prim must know that in her heart. The competition will be far beyond my abilities.”(Collins p.34) On the other hand, Tris was brave because she volunteered to jumped off the building first to an unknown place, but deep inside she knew that she won’t die anyway. “This is a scare tactic. I will land safely at the bottom.”(Roth p.58) The other reason that support the idea that Katniss is way more stronger competitor than Tris is that Katniss knows how to use more variety of weapons because she was a hunter when he father died. While Tris only know how to use gun while Katniss is really good with bow and arrow and more things. It said on “ The arrow skewers the apple in the pig’s mouth and pins it to the wall behind it.” (Collins p.97) The third reason would be that Katniss has gone through lots of hardship , she almost starved to death , without Peeta breads she would suffer more.(Collins p. 27) On the other hand , Tris grown up in Abnegation. Her family was not poor like Katniss’s family so she was well fed. In conclusion , Katniss is more physically stronger than Tris in most of the way.

In the fictional stories, “The Divergent”, and “The Hunger Games (Catching Fire)”, there were 2 main character we chose to compare the similar traits and different. From overall Katniss is clearly stronger that Tris. Both of them have very similar Traits and very different. The similar traits are, they have tough life. Tris had tough life when she was an initiate in Dauntless, Katniss also had a hard time surviving in District 12. But both of them also have different traits, and Katniss had more tougher life than Tris had. She had to hunt in order to get food, she have to take care of her mother and sister, sometimes she doesn’t even have food to eat. But Tris, she had family (came from Abnegation), and food to eat.

In both of this fictional stories, Katniss is clearly stronger than Tris because she had gone through a lot of hardship than Tris. Katniss is a survivor while Tris is like a student but with tough fighting teachers. Katniss almost starved to death because their family is very poor. Katniss physical body is stronger because she often sneak out the district and hunt. She used the bow and arrow as her weapon and you need to be very accurate to use it so it take time to practice, but Katniss had a lot of experience in hunting with bow and arrow. Bow and arrow are heavy to carry because I carried one before, so you must be very strong like Katniss to hold, but guns are easy to use. She is also braver than Tris because she volunteer to the Hunger games instead of Prim, when she knows that she is likely going to die. The last reason she is stronger because she is a stealth hunter, because he can sneak up, and kill enemy, when Tris need to have Four by her side and tell her what to do. So, overall Katniss is clearly stronger than Tris.

In the novels, The Hunger Games and Divergent, the main characters Katniss and Tris share a lot in common. However, they also have many differences. Yet, Katniss from the Hunger Games is by far the stronger competitor. Katniss can take care of herself and others, as shown in the book when she takes care of her family for months by hunting illegally and trading on the black market. Tris, on the other hand, has had food on the table every meal for her entire life and still does when she joins Dauntless. Tris' family is also influential and she doesn't have to take care of anyone, partially because she is the youngest person in her family. Katniss is also very brave, having volunteered to take her sister’s place in the Hunger Games, in which she was highly unlikely to survive while Tris simply jumped off a building, in which she knew was just a scare tactic. Another reason is that Katniss can handle weapons with ease, which is shown throughout the book as she uses her bow to hunt down animals and people alike. She can also use knives and spears. On the contrary, Tris struggles while using any type of weapon, her Abnegation instincts telling her that it is wrong to use weapons. This is shown when she first tries to fire a gun, when she thinks back to Abnegation, where guns should only used as self-defense. So, to conclude, Katniss is clearly the stronger competitor. She is capable of taking care of herself and others. She is very brave, and she has experience handling weapons.

Harry Tris v Katniss Paragraph

From both books, Katniss and Tris have showed similar and different traits but the plot from The Hunger game is much more cruel making Katniss a better competitor than Tris. Katniss is an expert at bow and she proves her expertise at bow by always piercing the arrow into the animal’s eye. she lives in a poor community with low food supply, her father is dead and her mother is mentally ill so Katniss has to hunt for food to feed the family. The outstanding point that proves why Katniss is a better competitor than Tris is that Katniss is not fear of death. Katniss is willing to sacrifice her life for her beloved sister by sacrificing to go to The Hunger Games. Tris have never experience any starvation or desperation before, therefore it makes Katniss mentally and physically stronger.

Tris VS Katniss-Tab

I believe that Katniss from the Hunger Games is stronger than Tris from the Divergent Series. I think this because Katniss is experienced with using a weapon and Tris is not. Like when Katniss shot an arrow right to the apple in the pig’s mouth (Collins 97). Also during their meal together, Peeta said that Katniss shoots the arrow from her bow right in the squirrel’s eye(Collins 85). Also, a bow requires a lot of practice and a lot of concentration, and on the other hand a gun requires only precision and the guts to pull the trigger.The other reason why Katniss is better than Tris is because she is brave. Katniss is really brave because she volunteered as tribute to save her sister Primrose. Katniss did a very brave thing knowing she would die during the games(Collins 21). That is not brave as when Tris was the first one who jumped down from the building into the hole. That’s why I think Katniss is better than Tris.

There are many similarities between Katniss, from the book The Hunger Games and Tris from the book, Divergent however, there are also many differences between them. And so far, Katniss is a stronger competitor than Tris. Katniss has been taking care of her family in a really poor district where her dad dies in an explosion (Suzanne Collins, 25) while on the other hand, Tris has been living in Abnegation with both of her parents and her brother and she barely knows how to take care of herself (Veronica Roth, 124) which proved that Katniss has a harsh background compared to Tris. Tris has been taken care of in Abnegation and she has choices since she is a Divergent (Veronica Roth, 300) however, Katniss has gone through poverty, she has to take care of herself and her family by hunting and their district is really poor (Suzanne Collins, 4) which means that she has gone through lots of hardship compared to Tris. Due to Katniss’s poor district and story, she has to hunt for her family with the bow her father taught her and thus, she is a skilled hunter with lots of stealth and accuracy while This just started to train and her weapon is a gun and throwing knives which meant that Katniss is more of an experienced hunter and stealth skills. Katniss is far more superior to Tris in hunting, surviving, willpower, experience and mentally. Which concludes that Katniss is a more fit person than Tris as a better competitor.

Katniss vs Tris - Jett

In the book called the Hunger Games, Katniss is the stronger competitor than Tris, (who is the main character of the book Divergent), because she is brave and can handle with weapons since she was young and can feed her family and take care of it. Katniss lives in a very uncomfortable community where you need to survive for yourself. She goes out to hunt every day risking her life for if she gets caught. According to the book on page 48, Katniss shot a bow and arrow to a squirrels eye, this shows me that she is very skilled with weapons. In district 12, the food there is terrible, Katniss needs to hunt for food outside of the community where she is not allowed and find food for herself. This is why I think that Katniss is the stronger competitor. Tris on the other hand, came from a loving and comfort faction called Abnegation. They were innocent and caring people. Everything was going good with the her parents until she abandons them and switch to another faction called Dauntless. The dauntless born initiates were very brave and can fight. Tris started out as what they call "Stiff." Tris couldn't fight, and didn't start to fight when she was younger making Katniss the strong competitor. Tris did not start to fight when she was younger and was not as brave as Katniss. This is why I think that Katniss is the stronger competitor.

Louis Tris and Katniss Comparison (Who is a stronger competitor?)

Although both Tris from The Divergent and Katniss from The Hunger Games may share some similarities, they also contain their own identities and differences from others. By comparing the differences that they contain and their strength or background, you can see that Katniss is by far way stronger than Tris. Comparing to others, she is very brave as you can see that she volunteered for Prim to go to the Hunger Games when she knew that she will probably die but she did it to save her sister’s life. However Tris might contain some bravery but she’s not as brave as Katniss, since she jumped of the building but she knew that there must be something under the hole since they wouldn’t kill the initiates before they will start to the training. Katniss’ background history helped her to become a stronger competitors since she must be the one to provide food for the whole family and her dad taught her how to shoot a bow. Tris barely know how to use different weapons. Katniss must be a very hard competitor to face with, since her bow accuracy is really high because she shot into the eye of a squirrel and the apple in the pig. As you can see, Katniss is a more skilled and experienced competitor from many different things such as bravery, sad history and experience with weapons.
