In the bestselling novel written by Veronica Roth, “Divergent”, multiple themes can be found within the writing. One such theme that has been singled out is: “Human nature cannot be controlled”. There are many examples and backing evidence in the text to provide sufficient support for this theme. For example, despite the initial creation of the five factions, there is still an outcast group known as Divergent. Another piece of evidence is that despite Dauntless’ original motto being to be brave and help others, this certain faction has shifted away from that and has become a violent, brutal and vicious faction. Dauntless wasn’t the only faction either. Erudite, the faction of the intelligent, also fell prey to human nature’s dark side. Greed for power overcame the faction and they attempted to take over the faction that controlled the government, Abnegation. Yet, there is even more evidence. Even though everyone is supposed to be controlled, the group known as Divergent is still hard to command and are considered a threat by Erudite, since they are more unpredictable. So, to conclude, one theme in Divergent is “Human nature cannot be controlled”. No matter how much effort is put into suppressing human nature, it will always rise up against those efforts.
You gave examples yes but it was not from the book. Your examples tells us about the book but is not in any pages of the book. You need page numbers and direct quotes. And you included all of the parts of TREE.
