During the production of the film, “The Hunger Games”, the film crew applied a variety of techniques to enhance the film’s acting, such as camera angles, music, sound effects and colors. With camera angles, the film’s mood can change drastically. An example is when President Snow is shown on camera. He is almost always filmed from below, symbolizing that he has power and is an important authority in the movie. Camera angles are not the only method being used, sound effects can also improve the quality of the filming. One such instance is the sudden silence when Effie Trinket is about to choose the tributes for the Games. Music is another thing that alters the film’s atmosphere. During the opening scenes, when the Reaping is about to begin and everyone is preparing, there is sad, suspenseful music playing to increase the mood. Color also improves the film, such as the bleak colors of District 12 are contrasted with Effie’s bright clothes. So, to conclude, without the use of these tactics, the movie, “The Hunger Games” would not be as exciting and celebrated as it is now.
