It is important to know your identity because it make you stronger. From the book “Divergent” by Veronica Roth. The main character which is “Tris” had struggle with not knowing what is her identity and who she really is. At first she doesn’t have confident as it show in the book that she can’t look in the mirror “but by mirrors. I watch myself, pale and terrified, walking toward one of the doors.” Throughout the story Tris become more confident and brave. While she understand more about who she is and finally after she accept that she is Divergent she become more confident. “I am not Abnegation. I am not Dauntless. I am Divergent. And I can’t be controlled.” as you can see the last sentence “And I can’t be controlled.” she become more confident now. So it is important to know your identity and understand who you are who will be stronger.

Tarush Theme Divergent
Do whatever you want but you should always be true to yourself and that clarifies your identity. This is my theme for the book divergent. Divergent is a novel written by Veronica Roth. In the book when Tris had to choose her faction she chose something which was true to herself and clarifies her clearly even though the result shown that she is Divergent and does not fit in any of the 5 factions but she accepted to be in Dauntless. ( I am selfish, I am brave.) pg. 47.Tris has to face the fear but she did it the which she found correct and true to herself even she knows she is Divergent. Tris couldn’t look at the mirror when she was in abnegation because mirror means like you looking at inner you. So, we can see that she accepts herself how ever she is and will be.
Harry Divergent Theme
In the book series “Divergent” the protagonist is Tris. She was originally from the faction Abnegation but transferred to Dauntless. As we know that she is different from others because she’s a divergent and throughout the story i found the theme. The theme is: Being different means that you’re special and you’re strong. This theme is often and constantly used in the book. The first time I have seen the book use this theme is when Tori and Tris both found out that she is a divergent. Example from the book: It’s my choice now, no matter what the test says. Abnegation. Dauntless. Erudite. Divergent. ~Tris p. 23. Tris is saying that she makes her own choices, whether it’s Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite or Divergent no one can control her. That was also a clue to why she is a divergent. Another example was I am no longer Tris, the selfless, or Tris, the brave. I suppose that now, I must become more than either p 487. This quote shows that she does not belong to any factions, so she possess that power that no one has. As the book goes on, Tris gains experience and become stronger and stronger. However Tris meets four who changes they way she thinks about divergent. Now she knows she’s not the only one and she have someone who she can trust beside her. However because the leaders can't control divergent because they are different and stronger, the leaders will exterminate any divergent fearing that divergent's might break the factions balance. I think that in the next book we will see how Tris uses her experience to make a change in her society.
Bravery and Fear
In the book Divergent written by Veronica Roth. The main character, Beatrice Prior (Tris) struggles with many problems. Tris chose the faction dauntless which values bravery. Tris has learned to control her fear throughout the dauntless simulation in the fear landscape. Tris is a very brave character, she was beaten down by Peter and she still stays up and fight. She has to learn to control her fear and how to keep a level head throughout the simulations. The Dauntless value bravery and that means to be fearless. Dauntless initiates spend a lot of time confronting their fears in fear landscapes."Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it, that's the point." - Page 239. Tris said this after her first time in the Dauntless fear landscape test with Four. She’s saying bravery does not mean complete fearless it means controlling your fears. Tris has shown act of bravery throughout the book. Bravery is a key to conquering your biggest fear.
Jett's Divergent Theme
In the fictional stories of Divergent written by Veronica Roth. It is based on a girl named Tris and has to find the faction that she belongs in, basically. The first theme of Divergent is identity can reveal who you are. Tris didn’t know her true self and kinds lost track of who she was during the choosing ceremony of which faction she belongs to because of the aptitude test and got multiple results that they call divergent. Tris figured out who she was during the ending of the book and that she was divergent instead of Abnegation, Erudite and Dauntless. She is basically a mix of all her family’s factions. The second theme is that bravery can lead you to being a hero for someone else. I chose this to be a theme for Divergent because of Tris spent the next couple years alone with her friends at the dauntless headquarters where they train her to be brave. They trained her well. Because during the fight between dauntless and abnegation, where the dauntless-born initiates and the new people got injected with a serum that makes them brain dead. Tris was brave and went to attack at the Dauntless headquarters with Marcus, Her dad and Caleb. The third theme is that by not knowing who you truly are is dangerous, because people in the community in Divergent always had a faction that they belonged too. And Divergent people are unable to take control over and can change the way things are. That is why being divergent is dangerous because the faction leaders are going to kill you for being different to the society. The last and final theme and reason is that family is the most important people in your life. I chose this to be my theme because family are the people that are special in your lives and that you can share your feelings with. Tris abandoned her mom and dad to go to the Dauntless faction. These are the themes that I chose to be my main themes for Divergent.
Dew Divergent Theme
A dystopian style book called “Divergent” written by Veronica Roth. The main character is Tris who is struggling about who she truly is and belongs to which of the 5 factions. The main themes in this book has mentioned about identity, fear, and bravery. Identity helped shape who you are. One choice can transform you so believe in who you are. Tris has to choose whether to stay with her family or abandoned them to be in other factions. "It’s my choice now, no matter what the test says. Abnegation. Dauntless. Erudite. Divergent." pg. 23 . However the result shown that she is Divergent and does not fit in any of the 5 factions but she accepted to be in Dauntless and believe that she is brave. "I am selfish, I am brave." pg. 47. Being Dauntless is not about being bravery at all but it is about what you believe in and overcome the fear. "I used to think the Dauntless were fearless. That is how they seemed, anyway. But maybe what I saw as fearless was actually fear under control." pg. 239. Tris has to face the fear but she could overcome it easily because she is Divergent but the choice of being Dauntless does not fit much for Divergent.
Louis Divergent Theme Paragraph
You guys might have heard about the main topic that Divergent is focusing on throughout the whole book, which is identity, adventure, fear, Dystopian Society, and many more but you might not know the true moral that is deep in the book. The main theme that you can easily find throughout the book is that “You can be defined more than 1 way and you’re allowed to have more than 1 path.” Tris was struggling throughout some parts of the book trying to fit and find a path of her true identity, but she can’t since she’s a divergent and even she chose to become Dauntless the path of Abnegation never fades away. The true meaning of divergent is to be able to do more than 2 things effectively that will cost you to be different than others. Divergences are capable of showing more than 1 characteristic such as Candor, Amity, Selfless, Intelligence and Dauntless. Throughout the ending of the introduction of the book, Tris is trying to think about her decision of changing factions or following the same faction, Abnegation. The main problem that struggles there is actually that she can’t finds an identity or faction to follow. Because she’s a divergent, that’s why she actually fits more than one faction and that’s not allow. You can see from the book that she’s finding that she also had Abnegation in her blood. Since her family’s faction is Abnegation but she just joined Dauntless. "I feel like someone breathed new air into my lungs. I am not Abnegation. I am not Dauntless. I am Divergent." Page 442. Therefore, this theme of “The Divergent” is valid because Tris can be defined than one way, since she’s a divergent and you can have more than 1 path of identity but in “The Divergent” people are only allowed to be in one faction that regulates only connected characteristics. Overall, the people in the community of the book “The Divergent” only allowed to be in one faction, therefore the divergents and people who believed in many different identities needed to fight for the rights of the factions system. However, in real life, people should be holding on more than one identity because different identities teach us and show us many different things so people who only have one identity can be consider as narrow minded. Being identified more than 1 characteristic proves that you are holding on into many different identities and creates yourself.
Hannah's Divergent Theme Paragraph
Divergent Theme Paragraph
The theme of the book Divergent by: Veronica Roth is “Accept who you are because even if you are different, being different is your strength. An example of that are the tattoos, Four has the tattoos of all the factions on his back and Tris has her Tattoos of ravens and her tattoo of the abnegation and dauntless symbol. Four has the tattoos of all the factions because it symbolizes that he is divergent and also that he does not want to be only one faction. Tris has her raven tattoos to symbolizes the family members hat she left behind and her abnegation and dauntless tattoos are to symbolize “The old me, and the current me”. Tris is Divergent and at the end of the book she accepts it and she uses this to her advantage. Tris has also shown traits like for instance wit, bravery, selflessness and Four also has these traits as well and becuase they have these traits they are different from the others who only have 1 defining trait. Tris’ inner conflict was that she did not know who she was but she later finds out and accepts this with the help of Four and her family. Tris also says on page 168 “I feel like someone breathed new air into my lungs. I am not Abnegation. I am not Dauntless. I am Divergent. And I can’t be controlled.”. This is why I think that the theme of Divergent is Accept who you are because even if you are different, that difference is your strength.
Divergent Theme- Kwan
There are many possible themes in Divergent, one possible theme is related to identity; People have different qualities in life that can differ from where they used to belong in the past. in Divergent, some people belong in one fraction, but later changed from where they were born in, some stayed where they started out their life. Tris who was the main character, moved from Abnegation, but later moved to Dauntless; her mother moved from Dauntless to Abnegation. In Divergent, there is also a test called the aptitude test to check and see where you should belong. These aptitude test does not mean that you have to choose what the results are, it is there to tell you what choices mach you. Tris’s results was that she is divergent, different from where she just belonged to Abnegation, now she belongs to more than one fraction but not fully into each possible fraction. Tris is also one who’s one quality supports another. Tris says that she is most selfless during the acts of bravery. For others who found themselves from the test, they may be hiding some qualities that others don’t know about. Caleb, Tris’s brother found himself in Erudite, Tris didn’t even know about that quality that Caleb had in him. From all these things from Divergent, it supports the theme how a person’s identity can change from where they used to belong.
Divergent Theme (Saranporn)
In the book Divergent , by Veronica Roth , there are many themes that could apply to Divergent. One of the theme statement would be ‘Family will always be your first priority’. For example : “My mother hugs me, and what little resolve I have left almost breaks. I clench my jaw and stare up at the ceiling, where globe lanterns hang and fill the room with blue light. She holds me for what feels like a long time, even after I let my hands fall. Before she pulls away, she turns her head and whispers in my ear, "I love you. No matter what." ”page 480(in kindle). Another example would be Tris is now moved to dauntless but she still always think of her mother because no one can cut the bond between family. “Scrubbing the floor when no one else wanted to was something that my mother would have done. If I can't be with her, the least I can do is act like her sometimes.” page 2240(in kindle). Also when Tris’s mother died to protect Tris from the Dauntless. The death of Tris’s mother represents bravery and it shows that she loves her daughter very much and no matter what she will always love Tris. “ It isn't just brave that she died for me; it is brave that she did it without announcing it, without hesitation, and without appearing to consider another option.”page 4749(in kindle). As well as when Tris’s father chooses to go and distract the Dauntless so Tris can go and stop the stimulation “My father jumps out of the elevator and sprints down the rights hallway, drawing the Dauntless guards after him.” page 4930(in kindle), this shows how much her father loves Tris and ready to sacrifice himself for her. These are the reasons why I think that ‘Family will always be your first priority’ is the theme for Divergent.
My Divergent theme paragraph (Emma)
In the story of “ Divergent” many themes are being created about the story, many themes include, choices, family, bravery, fear, identity, power etc. These topics are what the book
“ Divergent ” is about stated in one word, but these topics are also used to be made into a sentence which is called a “ theme” . There are many possible themes for this book, but the one main topic I used for my theme is “ Family “. My theme for Divergent is “ Family Bonds are not easily broken”. This theme is supported by many textual examples from the book such as, “ I didn’t know what I would do when I found you, but it was always my intention to save you”. The second example is when her mother sacrifices herself for Tris when they were going to meet Tris’s father and Caleb at the intersection of North and Farfield as it is shown on page 647, when her mother got shot and she dies for Tris because she loves her. Another example is when her dad also sacrifices himself for Tris on page 686, because he tells her that he loves her and he helps clean her wounds and that he told her that god will help her on page 681. Another example is when Caleb told her that he doesn’t want her to risk her life for him and that he is worried because he doesn’t want her to die and that he loves her as he said on page 684 “ I can’t stay here while you go up there and risk your life” . So those were some of the example that supported this theme. There are also many themes that can fit this book and this is an example of one theme in Divergent with textual examples.
Divergent Theme Pou
Theme is a lesson about life or nature that is given to you by the author as the story develops to the end. As for an example from the book, Divergent. The theme of this story for me is, “Don’t be afraid, be brave” because as the story develops the main character, Tris, faced many conflicts finding who she was and making a choice which could meant her life. From location 654 from the Kindle there was a quote that stated, “I am proud. It will get me into trouble someday, but today it makes me brave.” This quote meant that Tris, the main character, is proud of who she is and the things that she faced either it is good or bad she would learn and make her brave. I love this quote from her because it tells us about who she is and how she tells herself to be brave and does not be afraid of anything. The second quote that supports my theme is in location 658 which was, “I can’t back down now. Not with all the people betting I’ll fail behind me.” This tells us that Tris is going to take a very dangerous risk and do something that could cause her own life. She is trying her best to stay brave and continue on without being scared of anything that awaits her. Next, at location: 1049 “A brave man never surrenders.” This quote is telling us that a man is facing something that he is not ready for and is also in one of his fears. The man is saying this to himself to make himself more brave than before and walk past his fear. The last quote and tells that my theme is definitely one of the themes of the book, Divergent, is from location 466, “I am selfish. I am brave.” This sentence tells us about a person who sees himself as a selfish person who left something or someone behind and is trying to tell himself that he is brave so he can go back and recover all the things that he/her had lost. There are a lot more quotes and words that are in the book that tells me that my theme,“Don’t be afraid, be brave.” is true but I chose these 4 because they’ve got a lot of meaning in them and all describes a person that is afraid and is trying to be more brave.
Paragraph Response for Divergent
In the bestselling novel written by Veronica Roth, “Divergent”, multiple themes can be found within the writing. One such theme that has been singled out is: “Human nature cannot be controlled”. There are many examples and backing evidence in the text to provide sufficient support for this theme. For example, despite the initial creation of the five factions, there is still an outcast group known as Divergent. Another piece of evidence is that despite Dauntless’ original motto being to be brave and help others, this certain faction has shifted away from that and has become a violent, brutal and vicious faction. Dauntless wasn’t the only faction either. Erudite, the faction of the intelligent, also fell prey to human nature’s dark side. Greed for power overcame the faction and they attempted to take over the faction that controlled the government, Abnegation. Yet, there is even more evidence. Even though everyone is supposed to be controlled, the group known as Divergent is still hard to command and are considered a threat by Erudite, since they are more unpredictable. So, to conclude, one theme in Divergent is “Human nature cannot be controlled”. No matter how much effort is put into suppressing human nature, it will always rise up against those efforts.
Teetat Divergent Theme
In the fictional stories of Divergent, it teach us some decent lesson and the lesson we learned from books are called theme. My theme for divergent is “It is alright to be different because that difference you have give you your uniqueness and being stronger.”. This is my theme for Divergent because in this book, a main character name Tris is having trouble about what faction she really belongs to. The direct quotes that shows she having trouble is “I feel like someone breathed new air into my lungs. I am not Abnegation. I am not Dauntless. I am Divergent”, on Pg 442, this quote tell us that it took her a while to identify her true self. Another reason she’s having trouble is her characterisation. This is because you have both Abnegation manners and Dauntless manners. She is both brave and always help other when he/she is in trouble. The last and final topic of Tris having trouble about telling her identity is symbols. The symbols that shows she having trouble is that the tattoo she used is the 3 raven, 1 Dauntless tattoo, and 1 Abnegation tattoo.
Mue Divergent Theme
In the fictional story of Divergent, it is about a girl name Tris. She is different from others, in her identity. Even though she is different from others as she is a divergent, it does not make her feel bad. In fact, it makes her stronger by shaping her identity. Tris has tattoo of the three ravens, which symbolizes the three family members that she left behind when she transfer to dauntless. In the story, there is also conflicts, for example, when Tris took the test and found out she is divergent, she have many conflicts with other people when they found out that Tris is a divergent which lead her to escape dauntless. When Tris took the test, she found out that she belongs to many different factions, which make us learn that she is a divergent. In the quote “Tori was the only one in the tattoo place, so I felt safe getting the symbol of Abnegation—a pair of hands, palms up as if to help someone stand, bounded by a circle—on my right shoulder. I know it was a risk, especially after all that's happened. But that symbol is a part of my identity, and it felt important to me that I wear it on my skin”, it shows that she is still an abnegation, despite being in dauntless. As a result, Tris’s identity might be different from others, but it does not make her any weaker than others.
Divergent themes Tab
In divergent, the theme is that believing in yourself is the best way to be good at something. It is this theme because in the book, Tris had to admit to herself that she is divergent. The second reason of why believing in yourself is the best way to be good at something is that when Tris had the most points in the tris had the most points during the training. She gained confidence from that. My third reason is when during the training the Dauntless initiates had to be picked to have a match and Tris and four climbed up the ferris wheel to see where was Eric’s team was. And they found where they were hiding the flag. My last reason is when Tris was left behind and she had to run to the train. She gained confidence and believed in herself. From that and she got in the train.
Theme in Divergent ~Jo
In the book DIvergent, there are probably many lessons/themes that the author is trying to tell us but I think that there is the most important theme in Divergent. The theme that would fit Divergent in my opinion is that Not everyone can fit into a specific group. In the world of Divergent, places are divided into factions which has 1 side of personality such as Amity and Dauntless. I think that everyone has different personalities and have multiple of them so joining a faction that limits 1 is merely a cage which locks you from being yourself. Another reason is that the people grew up in the faction their parents are in and they develop in the factions which means when they change the factions, I think they probably still have a part of them in the specific faction they grew up in. Since the factions value their quality and disagree with others, its like everyone is allowed to have only 1 side of themselves. And lastly, I believe that it is impossible for anyone to have only 1 side and throw away everything else, and I’m talking about every single person here. I think that the idea to separate people in factions is a bad way and it is impossible to fit into a specific group and also, it is bad organization because even though the factions are separated, they still work together with hate for one another of foreign factions.

Pou Hunger Games Film Techniques
The Hunger Games uses different film techniques such as camera angles, sound effects, color, and music to create mood, emotion and meaning for the audience. The way that the camera moves can create and changes the mood of the audience right away. Cameras can watch the character from the bottom to show the character’s power over the others such as when President Snow is giving a speech to all of the tributes and the people from the capitol that are watching the tribute parade. The camera is moving up towards President Snow from under him to show that he is the person with the most power. Sound effects can signal that something dangerous is near or moving near and change our mood to the story right away. We see music as a part of the movie but when the music changes our mood changes with it. If the music changes into a sad and emotional music and the scenes is also sad and emotional, our mood will start to change. When the music of the movie stops when Prim got chosen for the Games and also when Katniss volunteered for her. It changes our mood right away because we thought Prim was not going to get chosen but after when she got chosen out from a thousand papers and the music stopped, its like our body stop moving and got more surprised. Not only those techniques that have been used, color is also another techniques that she used. Color separates the ranking or each of the places and tells us a lot about the setting. When only one place has the color grey and suddenly a person wearing bright purple appears on the area, it separates the ranking of the place that that person is arriving at and the place he/she came from such as when Effie arrived at district 12 wearing bright purple when the other people and around the place has only grey. These techniques can be very effective to change and make our mood and feelings more emotional.
Hunger Games Film Techniques Paragraph - Hannah
The Hunger Games captivates the audiences attention and interest by using different film techniques such as camera movements, music/sound effects, and symbolism to create mood, emotion, and meaning. When using camera movements the Hunger Games were shot from different angles to create a mood, for instance when they use a shot that looks up upon someone or something that means that the person that they are looking up upon holds authority towards them. If the camera angle is looking down that means that the person who is looking down holds authority over them. Another technique for camera movement is the handheld camera, it gives of a shaky feeling and gives you the mood of panic. As if you need to watch out for danger and that it is not safe. Also at times the music and sound effects create a mood and has a lot of impact. For instance during the reaping there was a complete silence that gave off an uncomfortable feeling, it gave of a feeling that it was something they didn't agree with. There is also the time when Katniss was on the chariot with Peeta the music was a quite lively that gave off a feeling of power and bravery, and another instance is when she went to talk to her family after the reaping the music was sad and gave off a depressing feeling. Then there is symbolism for instance color when at the Reaping Effie was wearing purple while everyone else wore either white or gray; purple is a color of royalty it symbolizes that Effie is richer and more prestigious than everyone else in district 12. Another one is when in her room in the capitol Katniss was wearing yellow while looking out her window which she programmed to show a picture of a forest yellow can mean happiness, comfort, and loneliness that could mean that she is comfy and happy in the woods and is lonely she misses the woods and those times with Gale. Also when they first introduce the tributes their outfits have to symbolize their district that is also symbolism. These are reasons why camera movement, music/sound effects, and symbolism help to create mood.

Hunger Games Film Techniques Kwan
The film The Hunger Games uses many film techniques like camera angles, sound effects, and color to express emotion and to symbolize and give meanings to create mood for the audience. The using of the camera angle in the movie gives off the effect of the point of view of the character and how the director wants you to feel like. When Katniss was looking down at her mother, the camera was tilting over the shoulder downwards slightly; this effect was to show how she feels towards her mother telling her not to leave Prim, the camera angle and movement gives you the feeling of the characters in the movie. Sound effects are also very effective in creating mood. A great part that shows sound effect was when Katniss was being taken away after the reaping, she is so nervous and her mind is blank so sound was almost muted like everything is going right through her head. Color was also used a lot in The Hunger Games movie to contrast the capitol and the districts. There were lots of contrasting colors, in the reaping, district twelve was grey and blue, but Effie is bright purple contrasting who she is and showing her royalty to the capitol with the purple. Also, there was contrast in the testing room for tributes, the game makers were sitting where the room is colored brightly and the tributes in the dim and grey part of the room. This makes the audience see the great difference between the capitol and the tributes. From these three techniques, you can see how it affects emotion, or symbolism presented in the film The Hunger Games.
Hunger Game film techniques
There are many techniques that were used in the film,Hunger Games to create mood , emotion and meaning such as , sound effects , camera angles , music and colour.
When camera angles are shoot from the top , it usually means that the person who is in the top is powerful so that you look up to the person. An eye-level angle puts the audience on an equal footing with the character. This is the most commonly used angle in most films as it allows the viewers to feel comfortable with the characters.A low angle is a camera angle is also used in the movie , the camera was shooting from the low angle then looks up at a character. This is the opposite of high angle and makes a character that the camera is looking up to look more powerful. This can make the audience feel vulnerable and small looking at the character. This can help the audience to feel empathy if they are viewing the frame from another character’s point of view.Other techniques that was used was the sound effect. It was the absence of sound that helps create emotions , it’s showing the audience the feeling of shocked that no one is able to speak anything.Music is also used to create emotions and mood. When the music that has fast rhythm came up , our heart is beating really fast because we are feeling in hurried and excited from the music. Colour also helps because it’s telling you the mood of the person who wears it and also gives more details about the Character. For example ,when Katniss was wearing a green shirt when she arrived at the Capitol , it can means that she miss the forest in district 12 and so she chooses to wear green. Also , Effie likes to wear colourful clothes which can also means that she is always cheerful. The people in the Capitol wears colourful and have a weird style of fashion which can mean that they are always cheering and don’t care about who died in the Hunger Game. There are many more techniques that was used but these are just the common ones.
Film Techniques used in The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins have been everyone’s favourite and so is the movie directed by Gary Ross. The Hunger Games movie uses variety of film techniques for example camera angle, colours, sound effects, and music. Film techniques are used in many films to create mood, emotions, and meanings to grab the audience attention. Camera angles are used in many professional filming, it adds depth and it emotionally appeals the audience. One of the effective scene that use the angle technique, is during the Tribute Parade. It was shot from the tributes point of view looking up to president snow, this camera angle shows that president snow is someone to respect. Each colour has a meaning and can create emotions, green and blue is relaxing, red and orange means hunger, and purple means royalty. During the reaping ceremony Effie was wearing a bright purple dress, since Effie is from the Capitol the dress shows that the Capitol is rich and really important compare to District 12. Sound effects and music really adds depth and many emotions, one great examples from the film is also in the beginning when they introduced Katniss hunting through the woods, the music makes District 12 and Katniss sounds like a place no one wants to be in. Another example is when Katniss was ready to walk out of district 12 and ready to face the capitol, there were emotional music which represents sadness and upcoming events Katniss have to face. The Hunger Games really use effective technique which persuade audience to watch and to continue watching the whole trilogy.
The Hunger Games film techniques... Emma
The Hunger Games uses different film techniques such as different camera angles, sound effects, colour contrast and music to create mood, emotion and meaning into the scene. They use sound effects such as when Katniss was hunting in the forest, and the sound effects make her movements seem stable and calm like having no sound when she was trying to shoot the deer. And also the sound effects used during the reaping ceremony when there was no sound when Prim’s name was being called to show shock. Camera angles are also being used such as the high shoulder angle over Katniss’s shoulder when she was talking to her mom after the reaping ceremony to show power when she was telling her to take care of Prim. Colour contrast was also being used such as the different sense of feeling of district 12 because of its very plain and grey colour, but the colour contrast changes when they see Effie Trinket because she wears bright colours and when she wore bright purple at the reaping ceremony. Music was also being used for example during the opening ceremony, when they were being dressed up symbolising their districts and when they were on the carriage going through the crowd with music showing courage. These techniques are being used in the Hunger Games to show more emotion and feeling and power of one character for another character. Without any film techniques used in this film, the scene will be dull without any fascinating or powerful sense of feeling towards the audience.

There are many techniques for camera angles and camera movement, for example, over the shoulder camera angle gives the viewer the character’s point of view, camera angle looking up at a person shows the power that person has over others, and shaky camera shows the stress in the scene. Sound effects shows the emotion during a scene, for example, when Prim’s name is called, the music suddenly stops to create emotions, and when Katniss is hunting, there is also no music to create emotions. Musics make the scene more or less tense, as different scene in the same movie can have different music. Sad music is usually used in sad scene to make the viewer have a sad emotion. Color gives the person’s status. In the movie, Effie is wearing brightly colored dress, while the people of District 12 is wearing dull colored, which shows that Effie is more powerful and wealthier than other people in District 12. Therefore, using the right techniques are crucial in making the viewer have the right emotion for the scene, as you would not want a happy music at a sad scene, or having a shaky camera for a calm scene. People might not want to watch movies where all the emotions are totally different from the scene.

The music in the movie is always suiting the scene like in the opening ceremony when the tributes entered the music was really loud and majestic. This helped us understand how people in the capital feel when they saw the tributes. Colour played an important role in the reaping ceremony. We saw Effie in purple clothes and everyone else was wearing dull colours like blue and black, this shows that she has more power than the others by wearing brighter and better clothes than the people in the district. She was wearing nice looking clothes and others were wearing terrible and ripped clothes. The Hunger Games uses different film techniques such as, camera angles, sound effects, color, and music to create mood, emotion and meaning into the scene. Camera angles can show mood and emotion because camera angles can tell what going to happen or what happening. Music shows more emotion and mood than the camera movement because without music, the whole movie would be plain and when the sad part of the movie comes, the audience doesn’t feel that sad. Sound effects applies a little bit to the film because if the movie they are not fighting for real, they are just pretending and without the punch, kick, shoot effect then it will make the audience feel that they are playing not fighting. For me, my opinion is that color is the most and biggest part that contributes to mood and emotion because, you can see that is the background have dark color, the audience can feel and sense that something bad is going to happen. Color can also show power such as purple, like what is effie wearing. Purple is the color and symbol that show power during the Greek and Roman empire. In conclusion, if the movie doesn’t have all the techniques the movie wouldn’t be that fun than it used to be.

The Hunger Games uses different filming techniques such as camera angles, sound effect, color and music to create mood, emotion and meaning to make the characters connect to you. Different angles effects the different emotions of the character like when Katniss is being filmed from a high angle above the shoulder, you can see that Katniss has a serious face when she’s talking to mom and she’s not afraid what she’s saying to her mom. Not only it gives emotions, it helps you see the characters body image and what type of person they are. Sound effect plays a big role in changing the emotions of the situation in the story because as you hear each footsteps, you feel how each walk is heavy and how intense it is while explosion sounds gives us a surprised or shock feeling. Sometimes sounds effects also gives you a better Idea of the situation , if the character emotion is tired, sad or happy. If the character is tired, the character might breathe more heavily and if we can hear that sound effect, it will be another way to show the characters feelings without talking or conversations. People usually believes what they see from their eye more than from their ears, so colors plays a big role for visuals. For example: When the movie suddenly turn black and white, we can relate it as flashback or a very old time which can tell people instantly about the setting and time. However if all of these techniques are combined, we will get a good movie that can show how appealing the characters in the movie are to us. These techniques is what made Hunger Game a great movie.

The Hunger Games Film Technique
The trilogy and now - movies, the Hunger Games, has won many awards. Many things contribute to having a movie win an award, like the plot, and sometimes even the techniques the directors use to make it a reason why everyone wants to watch it. In the film The Hunger Games, the directors and the cameramen used many different types of techniques to create a feel, like they would use different camera angles, they would use powerful sound effects, and they would have the actors overreact at some point to show the feeling. The cameramen would use different camera angles so that the audience can really feel what is happening, as if they were right there with the character. For example, in the scene where Katniss is on the stage at the reaping - the camera’s angle was straight at her and she was standing in the middle of the screen with the audience as a foreground. This showed that she felt vulnerable. Compared to the audience, which was closer to the camera that made them seem bigger, she was small in the distance. She was alone, with Effie on the stage while everyone was watching her. Not only that, the directors would use powerful sound effects to help create emotion for the scene. For example, like the scene where Katniss and Peeta are at the ceremony at the Capitol, wearing fire-suits. The crowd’s cheer is loud enough. Meanwhile the chariot is going, Peeta takes Katniss’ hand and raises it, like to symbolize “We Unite”. During that, there is a crowd cheer sound effect, to show that the audience likes it. The cheer gets louder, to show that they like it. Then, the actors have to sometimes overreact to show that extreme feeling. Like for example, if they are scared, they cannot show how they really react. They have to overreact. Like when the movie started, it started with a scream that could give you chills. Primrose screamed. If she really screamed like how she screams, it wouldn’t match the situation. This, to use different camera angles, to use powerful sound effects, and to overreact are ways to create feel. If these weren’t included in how the movie went, then it wouldn’t be a fun movie that everyone anticipates and it would’nt win awards.
