Why is personal identity important?
Original Question: Why is personal identity important? What is the value of having differences?
Identity is important because identity is who the person is, and it is what makes that person different from other people. Identity makes no two people exactly the same in everything, not even so-called identical twins that would look the same. It makes us a one-of-a-kind to a group of people that have similar interests. If different personal identity doesn't exist, the world would just have robots that think the same. Besides, there wouldn't be new ideas that come together for inventions, because everyone thinks the same. There wouldn't be creativity or anything new. Our personal identity gives our interests, and our interests affect our ideas and what we want.
I like when you predict what's going to happen without a personal identity by saying that the world would just have robots with the same identity:)
