Sunflower - Tony

As the sun began to move slowly across the horizon, sweeping gradually from the east to the west, it is not the only thing that is moving. Like eager stalkers, entire fields of sunflowers turn and swivel, facing the sun as it makes its way west. The pattern resonates across whole fields. Untold acres of fields of yellow flowers move gracefully, slowly following the yellow ball of flame, desperate for the light it brings. But... when the sun goes down, the fields of these flowers suddenly lose their charm. They drop and droop all over the place. A graceful display suddenly turns into an ordinary, jumbled field of yellow. For an eternity, the flowers wait. And they wait. And time passes. But then the sun comes up again, and the patterns reform. They resurge back to life, once again playing with the sun and the beautiful shine it brings. And then, the darkness plunges back down on the field and the patterns scatters once more. Once again, darkness rules the fields. Then the sun comes back up and sunlight is now supreme. The pattern keeps on repeating. 24/7, darkness and light switch turns ruling the fields. Twirling and swirling, following the ball of light, the flowers bathe in the sunlight, enjoying every moment, every second. But when the darkness comes, everything changes. Nothing moves. Everything seems to be on the verge of chaos. But everything holds, and peace returns at the first light of day. This is their pattern, their rhythm, their life.
