Small Liesel Meminger has reached to her foster parent. She was very excited until her excited until she saw her foster parents. Her new parents did not look that good to her so she was scared to go in but her step-father dragged her in to the house. Her step father was tall and strong and with a cigarette in his hand. He looked a bit scary to the poor Liesel.
This is a bit confusing because there is no background. You need to think of the audience as never having read the book and you need to give this sliver of info in a smooth, clear manner.
